Welcome!
Alligator Lines is a 3 x 6 N-Scale model railroad located in South Florida (hence the Alligator bit). It is not based on any prototype line or era and it will run whatever trains I happen to like at the time (hence the Eclectic bit). It will, in all likelihood, be mostly western and southern style with an emphasis on passenger trains but anything could, and likely will, show up!
When this site was first published, back in October 2005, construction had really only just begun. Today, (Feb 2007), the tracklaying and wiring (except for the turnouts) have been completed. Additionally, a very good beginning to the scenery and the associated structures has also been accomplished. And as of July 2007 a substantial amount of the scenery and Strutures have been completed. Still, as before, I will not be pushing myself to get it finished. The major criteria is to have fun, so return often and enjoy the journey with me. The only "for sure" is that work will continue!
All the thoughts and opinions expressed throughout this site are strictly my own and should be treated as such! Ideas and techniques described throughout this site came from a multitude of sources including the internet, talking with people and plain old fashioned reading! (Google searches continue to produce an absolute wealth of information). Just remember what works for one person will not necessarily work for everyone - experiment! It's your model railroad, do whatever you want!
Many model railroaders design their models around a history they have developed. In this case, the model railroad came first but it now has a history of how it came into being! You may care to read the History of Alligator Lines in the Miscellaneous pages!
I would like to draw reader's attention to the fact that I also have a blog! As some of you will know, I am a Moderator over at the nScale.net model railroading forum where I also have my blog located. It is not updated on a daily basis but is updated pretty regularly and information about Alligator Lines often appears there before here (although usually there is more detail when it ends up here). There are also a few non-model railroading entries there as well!
If you are interested you may view my blog at BryanC's Blog (BryanC is my ID there - not to be confused with Bryan who is an Administrator). Be aware it is presented in reverse chronological order so the earlier entries are lower in the list which extends to several pages.

Notes:
1. This site is best viewed using Internet Explorer or Google's Chrome and at a resolution of 1024 x 768. Smaller resolutions may be used but there will be excessive scrolling! Larger resolutions may result in some unexpected page formatting depending on the size of your browser window!
However, I would like to add a comment here. As of July 08, 2010: For the last two or three months I have been using Google's Chrome as my primary browser and have found it, while far from perfect, to be the best overall browser for my usage. Basically, IE8 had become very slow and Chrome did away with that.
2. Please also note that the transition effects used with the welcome slide show only appears to work with IE! With all other browsers the change is a simple replacement!
3. At the present time this site is made up of 108 different web pages and 945 images.
4. For the most part, the pages making up this site are very image intensive! A high speed connection, while not necessary, is definitely recommended!
